TN-CNECT - Sgt. Ehrin Ehlert

FirstNet in Tennessee

Sergeant Ehrin Ehlert joined the Tennessee Highway Patrol in 2002 and was assigned to various posts in middle Tennessee.  In 2006, he transferred to the Research, Planning, and Development division and has served in this capacity continuously since that date.  During his tenure in RPD, Sergeant Ehlert has initiated projects such as the License Plate Reader Program and the Digital In-car Camera Program as well as drafting policies and testifying on pending legislation. Sergeant Ehlert also serves as an instructor during THP Cadet Academies. Additionally, Sergeant Ehlert serves as the Department’s Emergency Services Coordinator at the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency (TEMA) and has been designated Deputy Statewide Interoperability Coordinator and FirstNet State Point of Contact.  Sergeant Ehlert is also responsible for statewide oversight of the Ignition Interlock Device Program.
